AT&T Increases International Data Caps, Prices Still Laughably High

July 12, 2011
AT&T, in an effort to keep prices low (ha!), has revised their various international data packages. Unfortunately, as reported by TechCrunch, the fees are still astronomically beyond reason (especially considering you can buy inexpensive, pay-as-you-go SIM cards at most popular travel destinations). Still, for those with more money than sense, the new plans offer more than twice their original values:
  • $24.99 for 50 MB (up from 20 MB)
  • $49.99 for 125 MB (50 MB)
  • $99.99 for 275 MB (100 MB)
  • $199.99 for 800 MB (200 MB)
  • $10/MB overage fee
Truly, these plans seem like the epitome of "last resort." If you're in a position where they're your only option, though, at least this change can lighten the load a little. Happy trails!
