Calling All iPhone Filmmakers, Show Your Creativity And Win An iPad 2

July 22, 2011
Do you love shooting movies on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad 2? Here is your chance to show off your masterpiece to a panel of expert judges. The Original iPhone Film Festival is looking for talent and ingenuity, and is giving away several prizes for some of the best film submissions. This is your chance to show off what you can do with your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad 2 and become a world famous iDevice filmmaker.

There are four different categories to choose from: fiction, brand film, non-fiction and music videos.  All films must run three minutes or less, except music videos which may run the length of the song, but not to exceed 4:30. Once you have filmed your creation on your iDevice (remember, all submissions must be created on an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad 2), transfer it into your favorite editing software and let your imagination take hold. You may use any of your favorite editing software such as Final Cut Pro X or the more affordable iMovie. The Original iPhone Film Festival has no requirements regarding the software you use.

Once you have edited your work, get ready to submit it online through their upload module and using the online submission form. Make sure to follow all the rules carefully, they are found on the submission page, or your film will be disqualified. There will be an elite panel of judges critiquing your work. The Original iPhone Film Festival recruited some well-known industry professionals such as Maroon 5, David Foster, Lasse Hallstrom, Cynthia Wade, David Pogue and several others with very impressive backgrounds. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded in each category. Prizes include a MacBook Air, Apple iPad 2, Apple TV, and more. Who knows, maybe this will be a new category in the famed Academy Awards. If you ever end up on stage holding that Oscar, make sure you include AppAdvice in your speech, preferably before the music starts playing!
