Above France is made up of aerial shots taken by helicopter pilot and professional photographer, Frank Mulliez. Some photographs are of areas that are inaccessible to most people. When you start your journey, you can scroll through all 2,033 photos in random order, or you can view them by specific categories. You can explore images of Lower Normandy, Paris or Burgundy. You can choose to view only beaches, islands or lakes. You can even spend time with France’s castles, abbeys or lighthouses.

As you are scrolling through photos, you can save specific ones in the “My Trip” section. Here, you can save your favorite images for quick viewing, or you could start a vacation planner. If you want to visit Corsica, you can select photos of places you plan on visiting while you are there. You can also search for images with a particular tag, like Eiffel Tower, or cathedrals. You can view a map of the location of each photo, and you can set the app to slideshow mode and just sit back and enjoy the view. If you so desire, you can show off your favorites via Twitter, Facebook or email. You can even save any photo as wallpaper for you iDevice.

As with previous Fotonauts, Inc. releases, this app is absolutely fabulous and does not leave anything out. There are over 2,000 aerial photographs for you to explore. You can view images by category, save your favorites, and send them to friends. At only $2.99, this app is a must-have for seasoned and wannabe travelers as well as Francophiles.
