Need A Spotify Invitation? Perhaps Rupert Murdoch Can Help

July 21, 2011
The Daily customers, both current and former, are beginning to receive emails this evening that will probably interest those still waiting for a Spotify music service invitation. The publication is giving away free Spotify invitations for the service that just arrived in the U.S. last week. According to the email, which begins, "NEW VERSION OF THE DAILY AND AN INVITATION TO SPOTIFY," users are asked to make a comment on The Daily's Spotify page in the App & Tech section. From there, you'll receive an invitation for Spotify Free. The Daily, which launched earlier this year, is the world's first iPad-only newspaper. It is owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp., which is currently embroiled in the so-called phone hacking scandal in the U.K. Perhaps this is Murdoch's way of making those of us on the other side of the pond happy, what do you think?
