New Round Of "iOS Tech Talk World Tours" Expected Later This Year
July 15, 2011
After a one-year absence, Apple is expected to announce a 2011 edition of its “iOS Tech Talk World Tour,” according to Japanese blog Macotakara. Assuming this rumor is correct, it would come just as the company releases iOS 5 and all of the features of iCloud.
First launched in 2008 and again repeated in 2009 as "iPhone Tech Talk World Tours," these events, held throughout the world, were very much like mini-WWDC sessions for developers, according to Apple Insider.
However, unlike the $1,599 per-person WWDC, the World Tours were free to attend.
With Apple set to launch iOS 5 for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad, it would make sense for the company to hold additional World Tour events this year.
In 2008, World Tour events were held throughout North America, Europe, India, and Asia Pacific.
As a reminder, we have a great iPhone 5 rumors roundup that we’re keeping up to date for those interested in more details. Make sure to check it out.
