Meet Oliver. Oliver is a bear who, I imagine, does not play well with other bears (especially the touchy-feely types). You must help Oliver protect himself and Wil from the Huggables! These horrendously bright-colored bear creatures are after your soul and plan to take it by way of — wait for it — hugging (dun, dun, dun)!

These creepy bears, with their devilish grins, remind me too much of clowns — and do not get me started on clowns. Seriously, guys. Get these Grateful Dead wannabes away from me before somebody loses some fur!

Don't let the Huggables get too close or they will hug you until you die; and I cannot think of a death worse than that by hugging.

To play, slide your finger across the screen, and hold it down when aimed at a bear, to blow them up until they burst into nothingness. But be careful not to harm Wil (the brown bear that sporadically shows up on your screen), or it's game over.

There are two modes of gameplay. The goal of survival mode is to survive this bearpocalypse for as long as you can (three hugs and you're out). In 60 Second mode, you want to try to get the most kills and combos in one minute.

To aid you in your bear-blasting journey, Wil shall come in and leave bombs for you. Aim at the bombs and make them blow up (just as you do the bears). They will destroy every Huggable on the screen and you'll be home free ... until the next one sneaks in, arms out-stretched, with more evil hugging in mind.

Although I love the concept of this game, the accuracy of the crosshair for aiming is pretty far off. It seems that wherever my finger is, the crosshair is always just to the left of it. This makes it difficult for me to wreak havoc on these hugging invaders and can be rather frustrating.

Battle Bears Blast comes fully equipped with Game Center support and character customization. You can dress Oliver up in ridiculous armor and even add new backgrounds (all of which you can unlock, the more you play). Until the crosshair issue is addressed, however, I cannot recommend you buy this shooter. But you have a chance to try it for free below!
