Save The Clones From The Zoorgs In Time Geeks: Cloneggs
Time Geeks: Cloneggs ($0.99) by Cory Games is a new Time Geeks matching game for the iPhone. These cute 8-bit characters are being cloned inside of eggs, can you save them from the evil Zoorgs?
Retro gaming music accompanies this fast-paced puzzle game and, along with the brief introduction, it really sets the mood.
The goal of the game is to break open the eggs to reveal the matching characters. Once you find two of the same, touch and drag from one to the other and — poof! — they'll disappear. The line between the two will look like a lightning bolt as you connect them. But be sure to be quick about your matches as time ticks away.
When I first started playing this game, I thought it was incredibly easy. Too easy. I didn't see a challenge, so I was very disappointed. Break the eggs and then match up the characters? That's it? No problem, right?
Then I saw the timer. This makes it interesting. Needless to say, it was a slow start; but once you progress, it becomes more difficult to match them all. There are 200 levels and three modes of play: eggbreaker, madness, and custom.
Once I got started, the next thing I knew, I was sucked in and had added multiple characters to my collection. An hour had gone by and I had nothing to show for it except the masked Scream character and a hippo with a construction hat on. Oh, and a spiderman. I did have a spidey.
My favorite thing about this game is unlocking the different characters. I love all of the recognizable faces in this game. From Beetlejuice to Robocop to Bubbles (the Powerpuff girl, not some stripper), each time I recognized someone it put a smile on my face. It just made me want to play more.
On top of unlocking Cloneggs in game, you can scan the QR codes for different clones by way of the website — and for free! Capture the characters you want, or share them with friends.
If you enjoy puzzle games, especially of the matching genre, or even if you're just a big Time Geeks fan, you'll definitely want to snag this game for a mere dollar.
Currently, there isn't any Game Center support, though, they say they are working on adding that and even more levels.
The game runs flawlessly and with the hundreds of levels, and characters to unlock, there's lots of replay value for those of you who love matching games.
