Big Button SOUND FX ($0.99) by byss mobile allows you to customize your iPhone by creating your own ringtones. You can choose from the many ringtones in the app, create your own from your iTunes library, or record your own ringtone live.

There are over 200 ringtones included in the app. If you like the sorts of ringtones that nag you to pick up or emulate bodily functions, you’ll find LOTS of choices here. You can even use ring.tones as a sound board by collecting your favorites for easy access within the app. Play the sounds right on top of each other, if you like, for your own unique symphony. I didn’t personally care for most of the sounds I sampled, but that’s my own personal taste. I enjoy more soothing than jarring sounds emanating from my phone. Luckily, this app has a lot more to offer than a couple hundred cacophonous ringtones/sounds.

You can pick a song from your iTunes library, and choose which part of the song you’d like to use for a ringtone. Do note that your song must be DRM-free (in other words, free of Digital Rights Management restrictions) in order to work. You have the option to have the ringtone fade in and out as well. Alternatively, you can record a ringtone -- your dog barking, your kid being charming, your significant other whispering sweet nothings, yourself rocking out on the electric guitar -- whatever you like! And then, just a few taps and you can send the new ringtone to yourself or anyone else!

Like other ringtone apps, once you create a ringtone, you must download it onto your computer. Drag and drop the file into the Ringtones section of your iTunes. Then sync your iPhone with your computer and select “Sync all ringtones” (or sync the selected ones you want) in your iPhone properties tab. Once that’s done, you can go into the settings on your iPhone and choose the ringtone you like.

Really, ring.tones is like four apps in one -- an extensive soundboard, a collection of ringtones, a ringtone recorder, and a ringtone creator.
