Match The Dorks And Challenge Your Mind In Doodle Dorks HD
Doodle Dorks HD ($0.99) by Dream Mill is a cute new puzzle game for iOS. Beautiful, crisp graphics and challenging gameplay make this one easy to pick up and hard to put down.
This game is Tetris meets Fling and it's not an idea I've seen explored (in full) in an iOS game before. Yes, it's a puzzle and it will challenge your mind, but it's more intricate than that.
After a short tutorial, if you choose to "Meet the Dorks," you can begin your dorky journey through over 45 levels of mind-boggling puzzles. Enter the "World of Dorks" and use your skills to carefully beat each level. For an even bigger challenge, try to get three stars in each level (similar to Angry Birds).
The goal of the game is to match similar "Dorks" in at least pairs of two to get rid of them. To move the Dorks, slide them across the screen with your finger. You can slide them to move them, but you can't make them move upwards without some outside help from another Dork or item (e.g. an elevator).
Be cautious of how many spaces you move. The less spaces or steps it takes you to beat the level, the higher you'll score. You can finish a level with one Dork left over if you must, but you won't rank very highly unless you are able to cunningly get rid of every single Dork on each level.
On top of trying to figure out how to master each level, there are many items that can either help you or thwart your progress altogether. There are conveyer belts, magnets, gravity switches, and many, many more quirks for you to encounter along the way.
Although there is no Game Center support, which I would definitely like to see, Doodle Dorks HD has its own achievements that add more to the task of just leveling. You can even share your scores via Twitter or Facebook.
The game is very challenging, but worth every penny (all one hundred of them). Personally, I love challenging games that stimulate my mind and test my skills; that's what makes them fun. This game will keep both the youngest and the oldest iOS user engaged and amused for hours.
