I Can Has Cheezburger The Official Mobile App (Free) by Cheezburger Network is the new, official I Can Has Cheezburger (ICHC) app for the iPhone where you can have your favorite "LOLCats" in your pocket with you wherever you go.
My first thought was to type this entire review in "LOLspeak." However, even though I know that everyone must love LOLcats, I kind of thought that wouldn't be widely accepted (read: be okayed by my editors).
On that note, I assume everyone and their mother knows about LOLcats. If you don't, I really don't even know what you're doing on the Internet whatsoever. You should literally be hanged over Skype for Facebook Google+ hangouts for all to see.
Quick LOLcats background for those of you about to be hanged: essentially, ICHC was a blog created in 2007 dedicated to pictures of cats (and other animals) with humorous captions. These captions are typed in LOLspeak which consists of writing as if you're a teeny-bopper sending a text message. You know: missing vowels here, everything is spelled incorrectly ... pretty much just "baby talk."
I Can Has Cheezburger for the iPhone brings all your favorite LOLs together in one app. Not only can you view all your favorite LOLcats, but you can also check out LOLdogs, LOLcelebs, and much, much more. Just like on the website, you can view many photos and even a few videos.
And why not share the LOLs with those most precious to you? The app has built-in Twitter, Facebook, and email capabilities making LOLdelivery that much simpler. I would, however, like to see the ability to save my favorite LOLs to my iDevice photo library or even simply have a "favorites" section in the app (e.g. click a star on the specific LOLcat picture and have it sent to the favorites section).
I have a few hang-ups about this app, unfortunately. The scrolling is a bit glitchy and laggy, as is switching between landscape and portrait modes. Also, I found that sometimes when flipping through pictures, the buttons on top (for instance, the share button) would not be there and I would have to completely exit the app and reopen it to fix the issue.
This app brings the awesomeness of LOLcats (and other such animal LOLs) straight to your phone in a nicely packaged app. It's free, so there are minor ads on the bottom of the screen, but they are not obtrusive.
I am definitely a big I Can Has Cheezburger fan in general, so I immediately snorted my way through this app and had a LOL of a good time. If you, too, are a fan, pick this up. Until they add a favorites section or the ability to save — and fix the not-so-smooth scrolling and minor bugs — I will leave this at 3.5 stars. But it does what it says and you will definitely get your LOLs worth.
