Montezuma Stones ($0.99) by ECO Pawel Jarosz is a universal puzzle game for iOS with an ancient Aztec theme. If you have ever played a game like Snood, Puzzle Bobble, or Frozen Bubble you already know the basics of this game.
You shoot different colored stones onto the board which is already littered with stones, however, you can only shoot the stones (one at a time) in a straight path.
Once you place your finger on the screen, you can drag along the bottom to move the stone from left to right. The moment you let go, the stone will propel forward from wherever you shot it.
The difference between these other games and Montezuma Stones is that the stones are in a constant state of movement and are not grouped together. They can even bounce off one another, making it a bit more difficult to score. So, plan your shots wisely.
The goal of the game is to match the colors up to get rid of the marbles on the board. There are also 11 different "special stones" that will help you along the way. No matter the color of these stones, you can activate their abilities with whichever stone you choose.
Unfortunately, though, you cannot score points, or get rid of stones, unless it is with a stone you are actually shooting. If two of the same color happen to bump into one another, nothing happens.
The game is simple, yet will keep you pleasantly occupied for mere hours or day after day. With 50 levels to conquer, you really can't tire of this game too quickly. If you're a puzzle fanatic, this game is worth the dollar — especially considering it's a universal app. It even includes full Game Center and OpenFeint support for all your achievement needs.
