How Quickly Can You Rid The Kitchen Of Zombies In ZombieMeatballs?

ZombieMeatballs (Free) by Unkasoft Advergaming is a universal iOS arcade game in which zombies have invaded your kitchen.

You're a chef and the only weapon you have is a rolling pin. Quick! What do you do? You hit them repeatedly with the rolling pin until they become meatballs, of course!

Confused? Yeah, me too. But in theory this just sounded like an awesome game. How could I pass it up?

At the start, you will pick your name and gender. You have three players to choose from: a female chef, a male chef, and a secret player which you can unlock down the line.

The first time you play, there is a little tutorial to complete. You swipe your finger in either direction across the screen to move. There are only two other controls besides movement: a jump button and an attack button (both on the right side of the screen).

The goal is to defeat all the zombies in each level without dying. On top of surviving this kitchen apocalypse, try to finish quickly โ€” the faster you complete each level, the higher your score.

Get ready to spam that attack button (or just hold it down) to splatter the zombies with meat. Once they're completely covered, just give them a push and they'll go rolling like bowling balls. But watch out! Once they roll, they will take down anything in their path. The meatballed zombie will knock out other zombies โ€” which is good for you โ€” or it may even take you out with it, if you're not careful.

You can pay one dollar for the "cheat coin" in game so that if you die, you can start from the last level you played. Otherwise, you're just sent back to the very first level. This is utterly irritating and not worth your efforts (or money).

Although the app is free to try, I would certainly not pay anything for this. The music is nice and the graphics are pretty good, but it's just not worth it. The controls are difficult, making gameplay awkward and frustrating.

With a title like ZombieMeatballs, I'm afraid my expectations were too high, and, in the end, it was a let down. You can give it a spin for free, if you really want to, but I would just move on. Paying a dollar to start all over on a game I am not crazy about is a burden I don't care to carry.
