Quirky App Of The Day: Comics+

I am blessed to be a part of the generation that gets to see comic books come to life in cartoons and action movies. I was raised watching the original Superman movies and The Flash TV series. My brothers collected X-Men trading cards before the Pokemon craze hit. My husband collected The Punisher comic books, and my uncle collected X-Men comic books. All my life I was surrounded by superheroes, evil villains, magic, mutants and secret identities. Comics are a nostalgic mode of storytelling for me.
Comics+ is an awesome app that brings all the classic comics of my childhood together in one place. With this app, you can download free comic books or pay for some of the classic ones to be downloaded to your iDevice. With dozens of publishers, there are plenty of comic book series' to choose from. Under the "Featured" tab, you can see the Top Paid or Top Free comic books. There's anything from graphic renditions of novels to basic manga. Should the underground comic scene be more to your liking, they also have a large selection of indie series' for readers as well. Basically, anyone who really likes their comic books will enjoy this app.
Anyone who would like to get into comic books will benefit from this app. It keeps track of the series that you're following, offers a comic book store locator and keeps you up to date on the latest in comic news. Probably the best feature is that so many publishers are all in one place. Rather than having to download five or six apps to get your favorites, there's a good chance that all of your comics are available in this one app. I also like seeing my comic books lines up on the pretty shelves like my own, personal comic book store.
