StockTouch Makes Watching The Stock Market Enjoyable, Even On A Bad Day

July 23, 2011
Watching stocks is not always exciting. However, a new iPad app is out that actually makes checking the stock market enjoyable, even when it's a bad day on Wall Street. Created by Visible Market, Inc., StockTouch contains an innovative interface to help you watch the market as it unfolds each day. StockTouch currently highlights 900 companies across nine sectors. These include:
  • Consumer Goods
  • Services
  • Healthcare
  • Energy
  • Technology
  • Financial
  • Industrial Goods
  • Materials
  • Utilities
Clicking on any of the smaller boxes shows general stock information on each of that sector’s 100 companies that are listed. Each stock’s box is colored differently, depending on its current performance. Green boxes signify stocks that are performing well, while red boxes show those having a bad day. Plus, the brighter the color of the box, the better (or worse) the stock is performing right now.

Where StockTouch really shines is when you click on a specific company. This page more thoroughly analyzes a company’s stock performance by day, week, month, three months, six months, one year, or five years. Also included here are links to recent news stories about the company and well as other financial information.

All data is updated every five minutes through the trading day from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., EDT and works with both Wi-Fi and 3G connections. StockTouch is a fantastic app and one that should soon get even better. Its creators have promised the app’s next update will include global stocks and watch lists.
