This Is Not The Next iPhone

This Is Not The Next iPhone

July 27, 2011
We’re not sure what to make of this, but a new Target ad is making the rounds that shows what appears to be an iPhone 5. The ad, first uncovered by TechoBuffalo, is part of a new back-to-school flyer for the retail giant. As you can see by the ad, the handset shown looks a lot like the iPhone 4, except that it has rounded edges and a larger display. Plus, the volume controls have been moved to the other side of the device. Ironically, the long-rumored iPhone 5 is expected to come with similar specifications. Apple doesn’t typically leak photos of upcoming iDevices to suppliers (or anyone else), so this ad is probably the work of someone in Target’s art department. In fact, I think we'd all agree it is probably a lousy attempt at photoshopping. Therefore, this is almost certainly NOT the next iPhone, but we're throwing it out there anyway.  So, if you see this ad, laugh a little and move on. Apple is largely expected to announce the fifth-generation iPhone sometime in the next few months. The iPhone 5 will replace the iPhone 4, which was released in June 2010. What do you think?
