U.S. News & World Report Weekly Arrives On The iPad

July 28, 2011
U.S. News Weekly for the iPad is now available in the App Store. Best of all, you can tryout one issue of the publication for absolutely free. First published in 1933 as United States News, U.S. News & World Report until recently served alongside Time and Newsweek as one of the nation’s top weekly news magazines. However, beginning in January, it became an Internet-only publication known and is known today as U.S. News Weekly. For $.99 per month, users can access the iPad version of U.S. News Weekly through an in-app purchase. For $19.95/year, you’ll also have access to the publication’s desktop edition as well. Each new issue, released every Thursday, offers political news plus commentary and other features. The July 28, 2011 issue includes the publication’s popular “Washington Whispers” feature, along with a Q&A with presidential candidate, Ron Paul, and a commentary from First Lady Michelle Obama, among others stories.

The U.S. News Weekly for the iPad app is not flashy. Its job is to give you the news and does so without videos, social networking tools and moving graphics. Still, because of this, each issues loads extremely quickly. And, each article, which is viewable in landscape and portrait view, looks terrific on the tablet’s screen. First time readers can download one issue for free, which is a nice touch, to make sure you like the publication before ordering.

There is really not much to love about this new app. If you like political news and want it in a crisp and easy-to-read format, U.S. News Weekly for the iPad is for you. Download it today in the App Store.
