Apple TV: Significant Update Now Available For Some

Apple has begun offering its Apple TV 2 customers a fantastic new update, according to news first uncovered by Daring Fireball. The update, which is available only for U.S. customers at this time, is a significant one. The Apple TV software Version 4.3 update offers two noteworthy new features including the ability to purchase TV shows. In addition, shows purchased on Apple TV can now be re-downloaded on other iOS devices such as the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad. Conversely, shows purchased elsewhere are now available to play on Apple TV. The new update also gives customers assess to the free video-sharing site, Vimeo. To update Apple TV to the current software version:
  1. Select Settings > General using your Apple Remote.
  2. Click Update Software. At this time your Apple TV checks to see if an update is available and a download message should appear if an update is available.
  3. Click Download and Install to start the download process
