Before Joining Apple, JailbreakMe Founder Speaks About Being Comex
August 29, 2011
Earlier this month, we told you about Nicholas Allegra, otherwise known as Apple’s public enemy No. 1, Comex. The 19-year old is behind the popular piece of code known as JailBreakMe. Now, Allegra is going legit and is about to begin an internship with Apple. Before doing so, he spoke about his fame and future via an “Ask Me Anything” chat on Reddit.
Among the highlights:
- Once Allegra heads to Apple, he will no longer support the jailbreak community by providing exploits.
- He was paid a total of $55,000 on his JailbreakMe product
- Allegra says he has never met Steve Jobs, saying “I wish.”
- He believes iOS will continue to be the superior mobile operating system. He states, "it will probably continue to beat the pants off its competitors in performance for a while yet, and Apple's "take your time but do it right" policy on features will probably continue to make it a pleasure to use. But I'm impatient: other platforms (WebOS) have a lot of fun stuff with no real equivalent in iOS."
