Graft Concepts Introduces Leverage, An Elegant Way To Protect Your iPhone
August 24, 2011
Graft Concepts has created Leverage, a new iPhone 4 case that will take the chore out of the installation or removal of a protective accessory for your device. This fancy case will also offer superior protection, as it is made out of a hard polycarbonate/ABS blend with a rubberized finish.
The Leverage case has a unique metal lock that opens and closes the case around your phone. When the lock is closed, the case fits tightly around the sides of the phone. It comes with a back that can snap on before you lock the case, to provided maximum protection. The case may also be used without the back.
The latch is made from zinc alloy and it has an integrated sleep/wake button. It appears the latch fits flush into the design, so there is no overlap for it to snag on something. The cutouts provide access to the other buttons and the case works with either the AT&T or Verizon iPhone 4.
I have to admit when I first saw pictures of the Leverage case, I was reminded of a spring form pan. Maybe this is where the designers at Graft Concepts got their inspiration. After all, it works well to remove a cake safely and easily.
The price of the Leverage case is a hefty $60, but for some it might be worth the investment. You can pick one up in black or white on the Graft Concepts website, but the free U.S. shipping appears to be taking three to six weeks.
One of the drawbacks to this case is the timing. I hope their concept will be easily transferable to the iPhone 5, as current iPhone 4 users who are looking to upgrade, may not want to invest in such an expensive case.
Check out the video below to see how the case works. What are your thoughts, is this case worth it?
