Schools today are completely different than 50 years ago (not that I would know). With the Internet, students can have access to a vast amount of information, from how many cells are in the human body, to the distance between the sun and moon. Not to mention, what Phil Schiller is thinking via Twitter and who your ex is seeing via Facebook.
With apps, students can read all their textbooks with the Kno app, follow their schedules with iStudiezPro, and maintain their GPA with Grades 2. It's really a revolution. A revolution OnlineEducation tried to capture in this great looking infographic. Check it out (direct access here) :
