New App Promises To Help Your Scoring In Golf

August 23, 2011
You always have your iPhone with you at the golf course, so why not make your life easy and try the new app Birdies by StackTracks? Forget about dropping your pencil on the fairway, or your scorecard blowing into the nearby water hazard. This app will help with all the scorekeeping, so you can focus on your game. The Birdies app works with traditional golf, miniature golf and disc golf, and it seems to be very intuitive. You can record the scores of up to four players, add player’s names, the course name, your own notes and more. At the end of the game, you can email the scorecard to yourself or your fellow players.

To mark your score, Birdies uses a click wheel (similar to setting the date in your calendar) to make the input quick and easy. You can switch between the front and back nine and the app will show the score either as the total number of shots or over/under par.

Birdies is brand new, so we are not sure about the ratings yet. However, at $.99 it is worth checking out for your next golf game. The first time you use it, you may want to consider using both a paper scorecard and the app, just in case you don’t want to lose your score. Although, what an excuse that would be if you are playing a terrible game!
