New EarthView App Approaching From The Sky Very Soon (Updated)

August 10, 2011
EarthView is an interesting new app arriving soon for the iPhone/iPod touch. The $.99 app allows you to look at landscapes as well as nearly monuments from the sky. Created by French-based GoProd, EarthView uses the iPhone’s geolocation feature to find the 20 closest monuments from you. From there, you can get a birds-eye view of the monument. In addition, the app’s built-in Wikipedia integration makes learning more about the location easy. You can also use the app to find the Top 20 monuments across the world, which include the Eiffel Tower, Empire State Building, and more. But, don't worry about whether you live close enough to a prime location. The app also includes a Random feature that allows you to learn more about each of the app’s 1000 monuments, regardless of where you are correctly located. EarthView should be arriving in the App Store very soon. When it does, we’ll try to get some promo codes for our readers to try it out for free. Note: The app is now available.
