Powerful Photo Editor Snapseed Now Universal!
August 3, 2011
Snapseed is a popular photo editing app, previously only available on the iPad. Now, iPhone owners are in luck, because Snapseed has just been updated, and it's universal! Snapseed now supports the iPad and iPad 2, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4, as well as the iPod Touch 3rd gen (32 and 64 GB) and iPod Touch 4th gen.
We reviewed Snapseed when it first came out, and added it to our AppList of favorite iPad editing apps. Snapseed is not your ordinary "put a pretty filter on a photo" app. First off, it uses gestures, which are well-explained within the app. It contains all the basic editing functions like crop, rotate, and the ability to adjust brightness, saturation, etc. The app supports full resolution photos, even RAW on the iPad or iPad 2. But what makes this app really cool is the ability to selectively adjust certain parts of the photo.
You get a number of filters and frames to enhance your photos. You can always check back to compare your altered photo to your original one. Save your finished creation to your camera roll. Print and/or share directly from Snapseed to email, Facebook, or Flickr if you like.
Here is the complete list of improvements in this update to Version 1.2.0:
+ Universal, supporting iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3rd Gen (32 & 64 GB), and iPod Touch 4th Gen (8, 32, & 64 GB)
+ Camera Capture within Snapseed
+ Addition of standard aspect ratios for cropping
+ Performance optimizations
+ Various bug fixes and user interaction improvements
Snapseed is available on the App Store for $4.99.
