Kid's Time Out Is A Simple Solution To Time Out Issues
Kid's Time Out ($0.99) by Adam T Courtney is a timer app designed for parents with naughty children, or just any kids at all. Lets face it, all kids have a naughty streak.
This simple app keeps track of time left in time out. All parents have to do is select the child’s age and hit start. The length of time out corresponds to the age of the child. A two year-old will have a two minutes time out, a three year-old a three minutes time out, and so on. Kid’s time out only goes up to 10 year olds, so hopefully your children won’t be standing in the corner when they are 11.
Aside from the timer, the app also has an eight-step procedure for the time out. The steps are mostly common sense, but might be useful for you.
The app’s interface is extremely simple. The developer wanted a quick and easy to use app, and that is what Kid’s Time Out is. There is no fluff, just the basics. Personally I find the interface rather dull and would like slightly better graphics.
There is one major flaw with Kid’s Time Out, there is no alert once the time out is over. Most other timer apps will give you a notification or sound an alarm, but Kid’s Time Out simply ends. Parent’s have to watch the timer to make sure they don’t leave their kids in time out for too long. This makes the app very impractical as most parents don’t want to sit and watch a timer for 1-10 minutes. That in itself is a punishment.
Overall, Kid’s Time Out is a good idea but needs some work. The app is simple and easy to use. Once it has an alert option it will be a useful tool for parents.
