Upkeep And Demand Plague My Pet Zombie
My Pet Zombie (Free) by Riptide Games, Inc. applies the phrase “high maintenance” to the undead.
A zombie has come back from the dead, but he or she needs your help to stay fed, entertained, and stylish. Give your zombie a name, dress him or her up, and play games, such as “Zombie Director,” and “Zombie Talkback.”
You’ll need to keep track of your zombie’s hunger, entertainment, and energy levels.
Earn points through the currency of either bites or bones to spend in the shop. There you can buy food to replenish the zombie’s energy, clothes to customize them, or different background scenes to change things up a little.
The Zombie Director game is fun at first, though it gets old quickly. Basically a zombie version of “Simon,” your zombie will perform a “Thriller”-type-move in a sequence and you’ll need to replay the sequence using different gestures.
Zombie Talkback will just have the zombie replay your voice.
The app is free, which of course means advertisements. However, the ad banner at the top is not too intrusive. You are also prompted to earn bones by looking at products outside of the app.
The main problem with this app is that the zombie is all take with little give. Left unattended, he or she just stands in place, complaining in a squeaky voice.
Having to play a game with the zombie feels like a chore. It also didn’t help that none of the clothes I bought for my zombie would ever apply.
I recommend disabling the notifications in this game. It’s annoying to be in the middle of another app, to then receive a message that my zombie is hungry. Of course, ignore your zombie for too long and he or she will die (again).
“I’m bored,” the zombie complains. Yeah, me too.
