Keep Your Quote Collection Organized And Discover Some New Words Of Wisdom With Quotenote

August 12, 2011

Quotenote ($1.99) by Topleftsoft LLC is very similar to Quotebook, except with quotes already bundled in. I like it more because it starts you out with a collection of good quotes and you can add or subtract from it if you wish.

I am definitely a quote person. I have quotes saved everywhere; from tiny scraps of paper and in notebooks, to random word documents and in note keeping apps like Springpad.

I like to include quotes whenever I submit my work to my editors, as well. Most of the time, I try to find quotes that have to do with the app I am reviewing. So, being able to search through a quote app for a certain word or category is very useful to me.

This app makes it easy for adding, editing, viewing, and organizing many quotes. You can even edit the quotes that are already in the app. It includes over 1,000 quotes with more than 40 categories and 400 authors. You can view the quotes by author, category, or sort them by rating once you've rated them (one to five stars).

The interface is simple and clean. You can adjust the text to your desired size for easier viewing. The app even allows you to bookmark any quote you wish.

You can connect the app with Twitter and Facebook so that you can share your favorite quotes with your social networks whenever the mood strikes you. Sharing via email is also included.

I did, however, find a bug. Whenever I would exit the app, even if it was still running in the background, my social network credentials would disappear. I would have to switch them on again in settings, and most times even have to log in again. This needs to be fixed as it is an irritating flaw.

This is a nice little quote app. I enjoy the fact that it has a lot of good quotes in it already, and yet I can add my own. Although the simple interface is nice, I would still like to see maybe a more creative design in the future.

I would definitely suggest this app if you are looking for a quote app, and I hope they will continue to add more quotes. For $1.99, I feel this is worth it, but I would still like to see the collection grow in future updates.

"I might repeat to myself, slowly and soothingly, a list of quotations beautiful from minds profound; if I can remember any of the damn things." —Dorothy Parker
