Quirky App Of The Day: Bear Hospital

I was skeptical about this app at first. I had two things in mind: Either I was going to be mauled to death and have my pieces sent off to satiate a surgical ward that's been overrun by bears, or The Beast from the X-Men was short on lab rats for his experiments. My demise could be gruesome and prolonged both ways, s0 I won't indulge in trying to decide which one I want most. Bear Hospital is actually an adorable app filled with fuzzy koala bears wearing diapers and using pacifiers. So, it's a pediatric ward run by fuzzy, cuddly bears. How cute is that? The app works by meeting patients needs in a timely manner. The cute koalas move from the waiting room chairs, to the diagnostic table, to scans or surgery and then to the cash register. Each station requires the doctor's attention though. If those needs aren't met, your patient literally gives up the ghost and dies on you. So, there's no pressure to keep those sweet, innocent-looking baby bears alive to see adulthood, right? You can upgrade your equipment so that it is more efficient, keeps patients happier and earns you more gold. That probably covers the more important hospital goals. You can also purchase boosts to help you do things like run faster or earn double the gold. Normally, purchasing boosts means having to use real money, but not this time. These boosts are earned through in-game gold. Right now, Bear Hospital is available in the App Store for free, for a limited time. The free period ends August 13th, so if you want to try it out, now is the time to act.
