If you ever played and enjoyed Mirror's Edge, the first-person, free-running (think parkour) game on consoles and the PC, check out Requiem for the iDevices. The game has been released as a universal app and offers very intense gameplay.
Unlike Mirror's Edge, however, this isn't a totally free-roaming type of game. It plays more like a standard iDevice endless runner, but set in a 3D space, rather than a first-person shooter or adventure game.
The gameplay consists of running away from creatures while using tilt controls to move around and action commands like sprint or crouch. The story takes you inside a boy's dream.
"Enter the nightmarish dream world as a giant creature out to destroy you, is chasing you. You don’t know where you are, or why you are there, but things have an eerie familiarity. Jump, climb, or crawl, over obstacles to survive and find a way to escape before it’s too late. The only thing that matters now is that you Run!!!" according to the app description.
The game is definitely a breath of fresh air on the App Store as it's a departure from the 2D endless runners dominating the scene. It is nice seeing a game like this take place from a first-person viewpoint.
Requiem is currently available on the App Store for $1.99.
