Star Walk App Update Provides Large Screen TV Viewing And More
August 27, 2011
Bring out your inner backyard astronomer with the newly updated version of Star Walk 5. If you enjoy gazing at the stars, either with the naked eye or a telescope, this app, by Vito Technology, is a perfect way to enhance your experience.
Star Walk is an interactive astronomy app, which allows you to point your iPhone or iPad at the sky and identify a real time view of all the features you are looking at such as: stars, planets, constellations and satellites. With the time machine feature, you can view what the sky will look like in the future, or turn back time and see the past.
There are other great features included in the app such as: moon phase information, a night mode that preserves your ability to see all the stars more easily, a search feature, satellite tracking, and more.
Star Walk was a winner of the Apple Design Award in 2010, and named one of the best apps in 2009 and 2010 along with being featured in an iPad commercial. Star Walk has now been updated in a special back to school release.
Updates include the ability to attach your iPhone 4 or your iPad to a TV, so you can explore the universe on a large screen (VGA dock connector is required). The update also includes a new multi-wavelength view of the sky. This will allow you to explore the galaxy in a range of wavelengths from X-rays to radio waves.
If you enjoy stargazing, this is an app definitely worth checking out. Star Walk is available in the App Store and costs $2.99 for the iPhone and $4.99 for the iPad.
