A Cross Between Mad Libs And Telephone Comes To The iPad
September 26, 2011
Remember playing the game of telephone when you were young? Now you can play something similar by drawing pictures on you iPad. Gather your friends and begin a story with the newly released app, StoryLines by Root-One Inc.
You start playing StoryLine by having someone pick a quote or figure of speech, such as: “absence makes the heart grow fonder.” It’s then passed to a friend who draws a picture of the phrase. Without knowing the original phrase, a third person gives the picture a title and then a fourth person illustrates the new title. This cycle continues as long as you desire.
In the end, this creates silly and fun misinterpretations of the original phrase. Once you are finished passing it around, everyone can watch the story unfold on the iPad. You can also connect StoryLines with Facebook, so you can share them with all your friends.
Another way to describe this interesting app is: illustrative Mad Libs. The best thing about StoryLines is when the story is complete and you and your friends come together to enjoy the humor in everyone’s imagination.
StoryLines is free for the iPad, in the App Store, and would be a fun group game to try out at your next party. It would also be enjoyable for inspiring creativity in the classroom or with groups of kids.
