AT&T Readying For Release Of An iPhone 4S?

AT&T is planning on selling a white iPhone 4S, according to a new listing in its inventory system. If this is correct, it means Apple will soon release an updated version of its iPhone 4 along with the iPhone 5, according to news first published by Engadget.
For months, we’ve heard rumors Apple was planning on releasing a less expensive iPhone 4 along with a new model. Today, this news might have been accidently confirmed by America’s second largest carrier.
The attached screenshot clearly shows a white iPhone 4S in AT&T’s internal inventory system.
Still, is this an actual Apple product coming soon, or simply a placeholder? We’re not sure, but hopefully we’ll know more very soon.
Although Apple has been mum on when, or if, a new iPhone is coming, most rumors suggest one is coming this month or sometime in October.
