iOS Apps Gone Free: ClusterStorm, Memorable Wines, Music Theory Flashcards, And More

Avoid red squares as a little blue square, keep track of Memorable Wines, and study music theory with today's AGF list.

iPhone:

ClusterStorm ($.99 -> Free, 6.9 MB): The graphics may be simple, but the action is nonstop in this avoidance game. Tilt your device to move your blue square over the green squares to earn points. Every time you collect a green square, however, an enemy red square will appear, which must be avoided at all costs. Yellow squares will also appear at times, which will turn you into the ever-powerful purple square, allowing you to take out the red squares for a limited time. The game features four modes of play, finely-tuned tilt controls, and Game Center integration.

ClusterStorm is available for free today only (09/01). It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 4 ratings.

Drug Diary ($2.99 -> Free, 1.9 MB): This is not a pill tracker, it's more of a means to maintain a list of prescription and over the counter medications along with notes regarding your experience with each one. The app includes all kinds of preloaded medication information from the National Library of Medicine, all of which can be discovered via search. It also includes the ability to list medications you are taking along with their dosages, start date, and your notes. You can even create reports from all of your data and email them to your physician or print them off.

Drug Diary is available for free for a limited time. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 10 ratings.

Memorable Wines ($1.99 -> Free, 10.3 MB): Allows you to easily remember and share wines you have enjoyed while at home or away. When adding a wine to the app, you can choose to add photos, a voice description, and notes. You can also categorize them in a variety of ways, and even come back later to fine-tune or add to your entries. Wines can be found by searching or browsing, and can be shared with friends and family via email.

Memorable Wines is available for free today only (09/01). It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 41 ratings.

Music Theory Flashcards, with AUDIO ($1.99 -> Free, 31.2 MB): Study music theory and improve your listening skills at home or while on the go with this helpful app. It includes audio decks on chord theory, notation and symbols used for composition, key signature trainer, chord ear trainer, interval ear trainer, chord identification, and composer trivia. Decks can be searched for quickly and easily, and the app includes full stat tracking so you can see where you need to improve.

Music Theory Flashcards, with AUDIO is available for free for a limited time. It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 7 ratings.

Geared ($.99 -> Free, 13.6 MB): A challenging puzzle game that requires you to grab gears from the bottom of the screen and place them in the level in order to make the rest of the gears spin. The game includes 200 unique levels with varying difficulties, the ability to skip to any level, awards and rankings, and much more.

Geared is available for free through the weekend. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 13 ratings. Universal:

Geared 2! ($2.99 -> Free, 15.8 MB): The sequel to the hit physics-based puzzle game. Place a wide variety of gears in the playing field in order to eventually power the blue gears. The game features 60 official levels and over 440 user-generated ones. It also includes a level editor so you can create your own.

Geared 2! is available for free through the weekend. It has a 3.5-star rating with a total of 4601 ratings. iPad:

Geared for iPad ($2.99 -> Free, 4.3 MB): A challenging puzzle game that requires you to grab gears from the bottom of the screen and place them in the level in order to make the rest of the gears spin. The game includes 200 unique levels with varying difficulties, the ability to skip to any level, awards and rankings, and much more.

Geared for iPad is available for free through the weekend. It has a 4.5-star rating with a total of 70 ratings.

3D Sun&Moon Compass HD for iPad2 (Gyroscope enabled) ($2.99 -> Free, 1.2 MB): This virtual 3D compass sphere allows you to view the position of sun and moon in relation to your iPad's position. It includes full gyroscope, digital compass and accelerometer support, and sunrise, sunset, moonrise and moon set data. The app requires an iPad 2. The original iPad is not supported.
