Looking For Relief At A Friends Restroom? Cloo May Help

September 8, 2011
Social networking may take a new direction with plans for an app called Cloo. The idea behind Cloo is to help you find the nearest available "loo" (toilet) in your network, so you don't have to look for a public restroom. Cloo's concept is to build a network of users who are willing to share their bathroom. When you are in a large city and are looking for some relief, log on to Cloo and see the location of the nearest bathroom of a friend, or a friend of a friend. From here you can see the details of their bathroom, the cost to use it, and you can even send them a request message. Shortly, you will receive an invite if their loo is available. This seems like a reasonable option, especially in places like Europe where there are fees to use public restrooms and they probably are not as friendly. There is a way to make money if you are willing to share your loo, as users will pay to use your toilet services. You could also receive, for free, some helpful supplies from sponsors such as Scott tissue. Users of your loo will have an opportunity to rate your service in the interactive app, which can help you bring in more business. In case you are unsure of what the name loo really means, here's a little history lesson. The word loo, comes from an old historical concept that often the bathroom in public buildings was room number 100. The word loo looks similar and the nickname stuck. So, the word Cloo brings together community and loo as the name of the future app. Cloo is not yet available, but appears to be coming to a city near you soon. Check out the video below for more details on how the app works. Let us know your thoughts too. Is this taking social networking too far?   CLOO' from Hillary Young on Vimeo.
