Magical Weather App Arrives On iPad

September 27, 2011
The hundreds of weather apps for the iPad welcomes another this week. Magical Weather offers forecasts using an animated weather station. Created by Sophiestication Software, the $.99 app includes hourly and daily weather forecasts for up to nine places in the world. By default, these include your current location, San Francisco, New York City, Heidelberg, Bergen, and Tokyo. To add new locations (or delete the ones already there), simply click on the Edit icon. In total, the app provides forecasts for up to 2 million locations worldwide. Upon entering the app for the first time, it takes a few seconds for the first forecasts to arrive. When they do, the features are impressive. In addition to offering today’s high and low temperatures, in Fahrenheit or Celsius, Magical Weather includes:
  • Relative humidity
  • Probability of rain
  • Atmospheric pressure
  • Wind speed (in Beaufort, knots, mph, kph, or mps)
  • Change in temperature since yesterday
  • Current UV index
Along the way, you’ll benefit by seeing up to 16 different animations depending on the conditions of the day. Each one looks wonderful in portrait or landscape format. Magical Weather comes highly recommended and is available now in the App Store.
