AppNews Provides Articles, Push Notifications
App News (Free) by opongo.com UG (haftungsbeschraenkt) & Co. KG gives you feeds of the latest iOS news all in one convenient package.
App News provides content from sites such as AppAdvice, Macworld, 148Apps, and Appolicious. The articles appear in a white box against a striped background, which directs attention toward it. A link at the bottom of the page will take you to the article’s website.
You can select new articles in the navigation bar, or by swiping the currently displayed one. Personally, I found viewing the articles in portrait mode to be the best experience. You'll only see the article and then you can swipe to the next one.
The feeds can be customized to your liking by toggling them on or off, and even giving selected feeds a push notification. This is done through the seiten (sic) menu. The developer was even thoughtful enough to include a sleep setting on the notifications, so those that sleep with their iDevice on the nightstand won't be disturbed.
Under the settings is an option to log out, though actually logging in isn't as straightforward. To post comments within the app, you can sign in with your Gravatar account. You can still comment if you don't have one, as long as you type in your name and email address. These comments won’t be posted on the article’s site, but rather just within the app.
If you are constantly looking for the newest iOS news, this app is for you.
