Baltimore Ravens Mobile Provides A Wealth Of Information For Fans
Baltimore Ravens Mobile (Free) by YinzCam / Ravens provides a wealth of information for any Ravens fan wishing to keep tabs on their games.
The app contains statistics for each game, including: box scores, scoring, drives, depth chart, and injuries. The latest media section on the bottom of the home screen offers: videos, news articles, photos, and sound bites.
During the game you’ll also see play-by-play tweets. The app isn’t limited to just the Ravens, as all of the league scores are shown in chronological order.
The fan zone provides Twitter integration to see what other fans are posting, as well as to catch up on the latest news. You can also check-in with others in the stadium through Facebook, Foursquare, or Gowalla. A Fantasy Football feature allows you to add players to keep tabs on.
By default the app auto refreshes every minute, though you can change it to be as often as every 10 seconds.
Perhaps the neatest fan feature, though, is for problem reporting. Have an obnoxious face-painting fan yelling in your ear? Enter your section, row, and seat, and select “Fan behavior/cursing/belligerent.” Your message will be texted to guest services.
The load times between features feels as if it takes longer than it should. A neat load symbol of two dots chasing each other at least provides something to look at as you wait for a feature to load.
One of the videos of the first half highlights sounded as if the announcers were at the bottom of a fish bowl.
For a free app, the advertisements are hardly an issue at all. At worst, the Verizon logo is at the bottom of the screen, but at least touching it doesn’t do anything.
This app will make a handy companion for any Ravens fan.
