Make Friends With Physics In Bounce The Bunny
Bounce the Bunny (Free) by Backflip Studios is a rag doll game featuring bunny physics.
You play as Bounce, a bunny who needs to collect as many stars as he can before reaching the end goal in the level. As you can guess, Bouncy is very good at bouncing, though you can help him even further by adding bouncy bubbles. Place the bubbles in the right spots and send Bouncy on his merry way with a swift kick from a boot.
Collect as many stars as you can (up to three) in the level, based on your performance. No matter how many stars you earn, you are always rewarded with the “1812 Overture” for getting Bounce to the goal.
The first 15 levels make up the world of “Bounce 101,” which shows you the ropes for getting the stars. Using bubbles effectively will be the best skill to learn. Pinch anywhere on the screen to create and resize bubbles.
Bigger bubbles offer more bounce, which can be both good and bad, depending on how accurate you need to be. A magic meter on the side of the screen dictates how many bubbles you can generate. Double tap a bubble to pop it and refill your magic.
You can turn in your collection of stars for goodies, such as upgrades and different characters.
This is a very addictive game that is easy to get into. The boot on a pole that gets Bounce moving will show you your previous pull back amount. If you found a position that works best for you, just tap the boot instead of swiping it, and it will automatically swing from the last position. A trail shows Bounce’s path, which allows you to examine where bubbles are needed.
The graphics in the game are great, though they come at a cost. It’s very easy for your iDevice to get taxed with all of the 3D models moving around.
I noticed a bit of lag when opening the app on my iPad, though it went away after the game warmed up. I can only guess that an iPad 2 would handle it better, though closing other apps may help in general.
Definitely give Bounce a shot. Getting it for free should be more motivational than a kick from a boot on a pole.
