Come Play Dragons Rage, It's All The Rage!
Dragons Rage ($1.99) by Prativo Group Inc. is an action game where you control a dragon who just wants to wreak havoc on the townspeople who are coming after him.
Utilize the accelerometer and tilt your iDevice to control the dragon's path of destruction. Touch the flames on the bottom right corner to breathe your nasty fire breath all over the jerks trying to stab you with pitchforks and whatnot. What's the big idea, anyway? They started it.
The best part is, that while bestowing your fiery breath upon the townsfolk, you can still turn your dragon — this maximizes the scorch radius, thus, killing more weapon-wielding troublemakers in one fell swoop.
The red arrows on the screen indicate which direction your enemies are coming from. There are different types of attackers that you must watch out for, too. Most of them will be marching at you, but some have ranged attacks which can be a bit more annoying.
It would be neat to have an even bigger variety of enemies for the dragon to destroy. For one, catapults and rangers in towers would be interesting to implement. This doesn't mean the game is lacking as is, because it is not; it's just something I've never really seen before. And you get to be a fire breathing dragon, so — d'uh!
Sometimes the mobs of angry villagers and knights will drop items. Just tap on them to pick them up. There will be many bonuses (e.g., health potions) and coins to help you to victory, while also boosting your score.
There is a nifty bonus level I was surprised to encounter after beating a couple of levels. I think I'll leave this one a surprise for you, as well. Let's just say the controls are a bit different, but very creative.
Besides getting a bit dizzy from all of the spinning, I thoroughly enjoyed this game. The graphics and animations are more than I could have asked for. They match the game perfectly. It also has Game Center support and is a universal app that you can enjoy on all of your iDevices.
Dragons Rage is currently on sale for $1.99 in the App Store. However, if you follow them on Twitter (@touchvillage), you have a chance of winning a copy, as they give one away every Friday to one lucky follower.
