Jelly Needs Your Help to Save The Jellies
Fruity Jelly ($0.99) by Bulkypix is a tilt-based puzzle game with cute, colorful graphics and deceptively challenging gameplay that will keep you busy for hours.
In Fruity Jelly, the whole jelly village has been ruthlessly destroyed, and the entire jelly species is at risk of extinction. One brave jelly, named, well, Jelly, is going to save all of his friends by journeying through level after level to collect a variety of fruit.
This is a tilt-based game, so movement is controlled by slightly tilting your iPhone to the left or the right, which causes Jelly to roll forward. Each level is a maze that Jelly has to get through, and in order to do so, the maze itself will need to be tilted, by hitting the rotate buttons on the bottom of the screen.
Levels will require a different combination of tilting and rotating to collect fruit, making for some challenging puzzles. There are also stars to collect, which will provide you with a surprise when you have enough. To progress through the levels, you will need to collect all of the fruit, a task that will definitely take patience and skill to achieve.
In addition to grabbing up all the fruit, Jelly will need to avoid obstacles and enemies, like spiky little balls that will turn Jelly into goo.
If you don’t like the tilt controls, the game offers an option to use touch controls instead, placing a joystick button on the screen. You can also skip levels that are just too difficult, but you will have to beat them to continue on to a new world.
Fruity Jelly features over 40 levels, plus a time challenge mode. In the time challenge mode, you’re given a particular number of seconds to gather all of the fruit in a level. This is great to play once you’ve mastered adventure mode.
Fruity Jelly has great gameplay, but I particularly loved the brightly colored worlds that Jelly traveled through, and the adorable Jelly himself. The graphics are gorgeous, making this game visually immersive.
If you like tilt-maze puzzle games, Fruity Jelly is a must-buy.
