Got Badge? Badges For Your Daily Achievements
Got Badge? (Free) by Two Guys from Poland is all about earning badges for the different activities you do each day.
Some of these will be fun, and some quite extreme. There are a few thrown in that are, luckily, quite normal like owning a Rick Astley album, or finding everyday objects with faces in them. There are over 100 badges you can earn, collect and share with your friends.
When first using Got Badge? you will need to sign up with an email address, which is not surprising (it is after all a social networking app). Once that is all done you are ready to go. Tap on the explore button and a list of categories of all the badges to earn will appear. If you see one you like just tap on it and a description of what you have to do will be shown.
At this point you have two choices. You can either press "Add It" and it will put it in the "Get It" section. This is basically a favorite button and is where you put all the badges you want to earn at some point. The other option is to tap "Do It." Once you do, it will bring up the camera option to either take a picture or get one from your camera roll. You may be wondering why you have to take a picture. Well, you need proof that you earned this badge.
There are 11 different categories (e.g., food, geek and fun). There is bound to be one badge in there you can do easily. An example of some of the badges you have to get are: Fanboy where you have to own two or more Apple products. There are a few that may be hard for some like: take a gondola ride in Venice. It's quite possible there are some badges you will never earn.
There are lots of fun ones too. You can sing a song at karaoke, win at bingo, and there are some simple ones like taking a picture of your favorite mug. There are several badges you should be able to achieve very easily. Some are more difficult, but that makes them a fun challenge.
It works in a manner similar to other social networking sites where you can follow people and vice versa. Whoever you decide to follow will show up in your newsfeed and you can see their earned badges and the pictures they have taken. If you want to see an enlarged photo, just tap on it. You can also visit their profile to see the badges they have earned so far.
Got Badge? is certainly a fun, challenging app if you like the idea of collecting badges when going about your daily business.
The app is new so you may find few people to follow. When more people join I can see it being great fun.
I think the developers will need to keep adding categories and badges to keep the users interested. There is a suggestion section, so it seems they are open to any ideas, which is very promising.
