Keep A Record Of Everything With LifeLogger

LifeLogger ($0.99) by SwingDrama is an app to help you keep track of anything you want to keep a record of.

When you open up LifeLogger, you’ll be presented with a clean and simple interface. The main screen will be where you start entering in your topics via the “+ Topic” button. Simply give the topic a name and you’re off. You can edit them later as well.

When you create a topic, you are able to add anything to this topic. What possible uses are there for this? Goals, projects, recording what books you’ve read, movies you’ve seen, etc. The possibilities are endless, and the app can be used to record just about anything you want.

Once you have your topics set up, you’ll want to add logs to it. Just tap on the topic and view it, then you’ll be able to add a log via the “+ Log” button. From here, you’re able to add a description, date, photo from camera or photo library, and additional notes. Once you input the information you need, just save it and it will be recorded.

On the Logs List, you’ll be able to see the description of the log, a thumbnail of the attached image, and when the record took place. Going back to the main Topics view, you’ll be able to see how many records you have under a topic via the left hand column. You can swipe to delete items or delete via the Edit button.

Currently, the app is pretty barebones and simple. The design (and icon) is beautiful though, and well thought out. However, in the 1.0 version, it lacks sync and backup/export options, which is a major drawback.

Fortunately, the developers have posted in the app description on iTunes that upcoming versions will have search, syncing to Facebook or Twitter, and PDF export options. While this would be nice to have, I hope the developers also look into something more practical, such as Dropbox sync rather than Facebook and Twitter.

Also, not that the current color scheme is bad, but perhaps settings in the future to allow the customization of the appearance would be a welcome addition.

Overall, I found LifeLogger to be a nifty app to have around. One can use it as a to-do list manager, recording places that they’ve been to, or just recording simple things that they want to keep track of. With a couple of improvements in future versions, the app is definitely one worth checking out because it’s so versatile, especially for a dollar.
