Rope Chicken Eggs In Mandelform Studios' Debut Title, Chicken Frenzy

September 14, 2011
Chicken Frenzy, the debut iOS title from Mandelform Studios, is now available in the App Store. It's a physics-based casual game for iPhone and iPod touch designed by Anders Mårtensson, former Illusion Labs Software Engineer, and industry veteran Jesper Willumsen. Chicken Frenzy tells the story of a sheriff named Badger who is tasked with the nearly impossible deed of collecting all of the eggs dropping from various chickens. You see, these aren't just regular chickens, they are egg laying machines! Something got into their chicken food and now they are laying eggs faster than any other chickens known to man. Thankfully, Badger isn't just a regular sheriff either, he's an all out rope-slinger. In Chicken Frenzy, eggs fall from the different chickens at the top of the screen. Some are brown, some are white, and others are just flat out weird. You have to draw rope lines using the tip of your finger to catch and manipulate the eggs as they fall in order to get them into their corresponding baskets. The task is actually a bit more difficult than it sounds since you are given a limited amount of rope. To make matters worse, other items such as nails, moving platforms, flies, frogs and even dinosaurs can bump your eggs off course and even crack them, so you'll have to be extra crafty to complete your job. The game includes a total of 60 levels, a refined physics engine, cartoony graphics, and egg ratings for each level to keep you coming back for more. Chicken Frenzy for iPhone and iPod touch is available for the introductory price of $.99.
