Sprint: We're Ready To Support The iPhone 5
September 15, 2011
Without confirming it will soon be selling the iPhone for the first time, Sprint-Nextel is telling the public its network will be ready to support the iDevice, according to news first published by Fierce Wireless.
According to Sprint CFO Joe Euteneuer, his company will be prepared to sell Apple’s handset, whenever that time comes.
He stated:
"Steve [Elfman, president of Sprint's network operations and wholesale,] and his team have been relentless on watching the existing network to make sure that we are spending the capital we need and to make sure we don't create a bad user experience--irrespective of all the rumors."Euteneuer comments came at the Bank of America Merrill Lunch Media, Entertainment & Communication conference. In August, we reported The Wall Street Journal stated America’s No. 3 carrier would begin selling the iPhone 5 when it comes online. The unannounced fifth-generation iPhone is likely to arrive later this month or in October.
