Supermono Studios Teases First Ever "Forever Drive" In-Game Footage
September 22, 2011
It seems like forever -- and it's driving me crazy! -- that we've been (increasingly im)patiently waiting for Supermono Studio's Forever Drive. The futuristic, dynamic, crowd-sourced racing game, in development for most of 2011, seeks to turn the staid iOS genre on its proverbial... hairpin turn.
While the talented team behind the effort has been fairly close-lipped about its development progress, they've teased enough conceptual mockups and screenshots to whet the appetite of any serious gear-head gamer.
Recently, though, Supermono released an actual video preview of the title, marking our first ever glimpse of Forever Drive in full, bright, neon action:
Based on the footage, there's already been some concern that the game's pacing might be a tad too slow and easy, but any such fears can be swept aside by the fact that the build in question is an admitted prerelease beta. In fact, the developers have guaranteed that the final version will be faster, cleaner, and offer more customization and on-track obstacles (read "traffic") than what's shown in the short promo.
Forever Drive, most likely a universal binary, is slated for an October release and will adhere to the freemium (and ad-free) pricing model. Rest assured, however, that all unlockables can be earned without the need to purchase a single upgrade. It'll just take much longer.
But, hopefully, you won't have to wait much longer to download the potential sci-fi sandbox masterpiece.
