According To Rumors The iPad 3 Will Have A Better, More Expensive Battery

September 7, 2011
A report has surfaced in the Taiwan Economic News stating that two manufacturers, Simply Technology and Dynapack International Technology are supplying batteries for the rumored, upcoming iPad 3. The new specifications seem to be quite different from the current iPad battery. These new batteries appear to be thinner, lighter, last longer and comply with the new CTIA IEE 1625 standards, which focus on quality and safety. They will cost Apple 20 to 30 percent more than the current iPad battery, which hopefully will not be passed on to the consumer. Both of these companies currently make the batteries for the iPad and MacBook. What is unknown, at this point, is if the thinner battery will allow the new iPad to be smaller or to provide room for a Retina display. Most techno-geeks who want to upgrade to the iPad 3 are looking forward a new, higher resolution display. The report stated that the two battery makers were beginning mass production in the fourth quarter of 2011, which would coincide with a first quarter 2012 release of the iPad 3. Just when we seem to be getting close to hanging up all of the iPhone 5 rumors, new speculation and anticipation will begin for the iPad 3.
