His Adventure ($0.99) by Pezzini Games is a puzzle game that challenges your wits and reflexes. The doodle style, combined with the difficult strategy makes this game an adventure all its own.
Your goal is to collect three stars and guide your line-drawn protagonist to the exit door while avoiding obstacles. The little guy can’t handle being bonked on his head, nor is he able to walk in the right direction without a nudge from you. You’ve got to keep him safely on track while he maneuvers through each level.
To get your character to move, just tap the screen and he will start walking. To get him up stairs or around obstacles, you must lift him up with a platform. This rectangular block is your only means of moving him around. You slide the platform under his feet while he walks to take him from one spot to another, but he will continue walking until he hits a wall or walks off the screen. If he bounces off of a wall he will turn around and start walking in the opposite direction. If he walks off the screen, you fail the level.
While you are trying to maneuver your character around, it is important not to accidently hit his head on anything, like the platform or a low ceiling. His little head is very soft and if it is touched at all, he will die. Additionally, you must help him avoid obstacles like circular saws and boiling lava. The stick figure on paper art style of this app makes it easy to see where you are going and what you need to do, but also makes what is otherwise a very complicated game seem simple.
There are 70 levels across four different worlds. Each level is extremely challenging. You must be able to strategize a way to get your hero to grab all of the stars, but you must also have the reflexes of a kung fu master.
Overall, this puzzle adventure game wins big for being complicated. With 70 difficult levels, you’ll be lucky to get through the first world without pulling your hair out. For those that love a challenge, this is your game. At only $0.99, it is sure to be a competitor for the top spot in the App Store.
