Apple Unveils 30-Pin-To-Micro-USB Adapter, Elegantly Skirts International "Standard"

October 4, 2011
The UK Apple Store is now selling Apple's official 30-pin to micro-USB adapter. A short dongle similar to the company's iPad Camera Connect units, the adapter allows Apple to conform to European technological standards (and avoid any requisite fines of failure to do so) without sacrificing its own design standards. Additionally, says 9 to 5 Mac, the move also prevents Apple from
risk[ing] incompatibility problems with a billion dollar ecosystem of accessories that take advantage of Apple’s 30-pin dock connector.
If, for some reason, you desperately need one of these doodads, you can get it now for £8.00.
