We’ve gotten emails from a number of readers this morning concerned they won’t be able to keep their legacy unlimited data plan from AT&T after switching to the iPhone 4S. Don’t worry – you can still do it and here’s how. Even though AT&T eliminated its unlimited data plan in 2010, those customers that already had the $30/month plan were told they could keep it – even when buying new phones. AT&T's promise to these customers continues now with the next-generation iPhone.
Apparently, the confusion over the iPhone 4S began when online preorders began for the new iDevice just hours ago. Users are reporting that as you add a data plan, the website shows a warning saying you must change your plan. However, you are able to “switch” to a “Data Unlimited for iPhone 4S” plan. In other words, for those readers lucky enough to have an unlimited data plan from AT&T, you can upgrade your iPhone with no worries. Have you preordered your iPhone 4S? Which model, color, and carrier? Did you have any problems or concerns? Let us know by commenting below.
