Color Uncovered: The Interactive Digital Book Comes To iPad

October 19, 2011
San Francisco’s Exploratorium has released a fantastic new app called Color Uncovered, an interactive digital book for iPad. The book, which is absolutely free, features a number of impressive color-related topics to explore. Think of it as colors gone wild. Did you know that the Renaissance palette contained only yellows, oranges, and reds, with some black and white thrown in? Were you aware that for all its marvels, the iPad screen only shows three colors – red, green, and blue? These and other tidbits are completely true. To prove each, Color Uncovered offers 12 hands-on tests, each which is intriguing, if not frustrating at the same time. As its creators contend, after using the app “you’ll never look at color the same way again.” On this, we agree 100 percent. Color Uncovered is available now in the App Store.
