How Does The iPhone 4S Compare To The iPhone 4? We Have Answers
October 16, 2011
Now that the iPhone 4S is here, I spent the weekend playing around with the new device. More importantly, I wanted to justify my purchase and prove that the iPhone 4S was worth the $300 upgrade and waiting in line for hours on launch day.
Over the past couple of days, I ran some comparisons with my old iPhone 4 and my new iPhone 4s. I took pictures, tried out the video stabilization feature and ran a speed test. I was very happy with the results, but you can be the judge.
The Camera
Below is a series of pictures. I took both outside and inside shots and all the settings were the same on each phone. None of the photos were edited. The iPhone 4 has a 5MP camera and the iPhone 4S has a 8MP camera.
The iPhone 4S picture below appears to have more clarity and better color balance.

I actually like the iPhone 4 picture better in these next two than the iPhone 4S. The greens are richer looking.
In these wide outdoor shots, the color and clarity on the iPhone 4S really pops. Although, the iPhone 4 picture looks pretty good too.
Video StabilizationThe iPhone 4S boasts full 1080p HD video and image stabilization. Here is a video taken while walking down a hallway to test the stabilization feature. The video on the iPhone 4s is more stable than the iPhone 4.

Speed Test And finally, I made a video of the speed comparison between the two devices. I think the new features of the iPhone 4S are very nice and I am happy I upgraded. And Siri, the personal assistant, really makes the iPhone 4S fun and entertaining. What do you think? Did you, or are you, going to upgrade? Let us know your thoughts below.
